Casa San Pablo Clay Workshop as Teaching Module for Tourism

INTERACTING WITH LOCAL ARTISANS is a an example of authentic tourism, a current trend in sustainable tourism. This was a highlight of the Sustainable Tourism module prepared by Casa San Pablo for the tourism students of the University of the Cordillera. In a fun-filled hour, the students interacted with our very own innkeeper and clay artisan An Mercado-Alcantara and learned how to make storyteller clay figures. Over a hundred students participated in the hands-on activity that had them creating clay scenes depicting examples of hometown tourism ideas. We were impressed with the results of the clay workshop and amazed at the ideas each group presented.

The students also took advantage of their visit to have some teambuilding activities at Casa San Pablo’s Junk Art Garden. You can read about their experience here.

Thank you University of Cordillera for taking our clay workshop as part of your Sustainable Tourism module.
